Participation in our service by the congregation is strongly encouraged. Each Sunday, members will present our Scripture readings. You don't need to be a public speaker to participate - the Word of our Lord is meant to be shared with all! Remember - the focus will be on the Word - not on you. If you wish to volunteer to read please contact the church office.
Music plays a large roll in our spirituality. If you would like a chance to help plan the music for upcoming services you are welcome to attend a Worship Committee meeting where hymn selections are made. Please consult the church calendar for meeting times.
If you would like to share your special gift of music during a service or know someone who would like to share their talents please contact the church office.
While holding true to our Presbyterian Tradition, Ocean View Presbyterian Church welcomes all and strives to provide traditional worship that you will be comfortable in sharing with us regardless of your background. You will be in fellowship with us from the time you enter our door, as we pass the peace, and as we bid farewell during our musical benediction.
Our Congregation Celebrates the Eucharist on the first Sunday of every month and on other celebration days prescribed by the PC(USA) calendar. The final schedule is determined by Session. When served by trays, wine is offered as well as juice and it is our tradition to hold the elements until all have been served. We also celebrate by Intinction (the dipping of the host into the wine (juice).
